What is red light therapy?
It is the use of light from one part of the spectrum, produced by a device for the purpose that model was designed for. Wavelength, intensity, distance and duration are four separate facts, and any one of them alone tells you very little.
Are all red light devices the same?
No, and the differences matter. Light source, coverage, power, how the device is worn and the instructions that come with it all vary. Compare the verified figures for each model rather than the marketing around them.
How often should I use one?
Follow the manual for your model, and only that. Schedules you find online were written for a different device.
Do I need eye protection?
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your model. Never look directly at the source, and wear eye protection wherever the manual asks for it.
Should I check with a doctor first?
Yes, if you are sensitive to light, take medication that increases light sensitivity, have any eye or skin concern, are pregnant, or have a relevant medical condition. If you are unsure, ask anyway.
How long before I see results?
We do not answer that, and we would be careful with anyone who does. Experience varies by person, by device and by how it is used. Fotera does not guarantee individual results, and does not publish images or statements implying a particular outcome.
Where do your technical figures come from?
Product documentation and relevant testing, with the measurement conditions stated wherever they change the meaning. Anything we have not confirmed is marked unconfirmed rather than estimated.
How do I reach the Fotera team?
Use the form on the contact page. Include the product name, and your order number if you have one, and we can get to the answer faster.
